Statewide initiative aimed at improving birth outcomes in North Carolina. The campaign aims to reduce infant mortality, birth defects, premature birth, and chronic health conditions in women while increasing intended pregnancies. Initiatives include: the Community Ambassador Program, which trains community health educators; the Office Champion Program, to encourage health care providers to recommend vitamins and folic acid to all women of childbearing age; targeted outreach to Latino populations; and media and materials touting the benefits of folic acid and preconception health.
