Networking Cafés provide an opportunity for Healthy Start grantees to connect with each other and reflect on a specific topic, practice intentional conversation, and share and hear the expertise among the 101 grantees. Networking cafés are hosted on various topics throughout the year. Previous topics have included client recruitment and retention, staff recruitment and retention, father engagement, social media and content creation, and more.

Previous Cafés

In Summer 2022, Westat, the evaluator for the national Healthy Start Evaluation on behalf of HRSA, facilitated three Networking Cafés focused on Community Action Networks (CAN) and father/partner engagement. This handout summarizes the findings from the discussions.

MOVE Framework

Please join the Healthy Start TA & Support Center (TASC) on Tuesday, October 31 from 1-2 pm ET for a Networking Café focused on the draft MOVE Framework, a systems evaluation framework currently being created by the TASC. Grantees are invited to review the draft MOVE Framework and join the Networking Café to provide feedback and help shape the framework to ensure it is supportive for grantees. We especially encourage Evaluators and Project Directors to join this discussion! To register for the Networking Café, please click here. For more information about the MOVE Framework and this Networking Café, please see below.

What is the MOVE Framework?
The TASC is partnering with Insight for Action to design the Monitoring Outcomes for Viable Evaluation (MOVE) Framework and Toolbox. The MOVE Framework is a suggested course of action for improving and documenting the impact of systems change interventions. The framework consists of 6 components and 15 tools to guide grantees to refine their strategies for greater potency and document impacts on addressing social determinants of health for improved infant health equity.

Who is the Framework designed for? The framework is designed for HRSA-funded Catalyst for Infant Health Equity (IHE) grantees, the broader HS community, and other maternal and child health (MCH) programs that are interested in systems change evaluation. What is the Goal of the Networking Café? The goal of this Networking Café is to gather grantee feedback on the 6 components of the MOVE Framework and discuss ways in which the framework could be most supportive for HS grantees.

We hope to see you there! If you have any questions, please email [email protected].
