The 2023 Healthy Start Equity Assessment, which many of you participated in, shined a light on the equity-related successes of the HS community and helped identify common themes where additional training and capacity-building support could support your efforts. In response to the findings from the Assessment, the TASC has created the Equity LAB. If you have a specific challenge or problem connected with equity at your organization or within your community, we invite you to join us at the LAB.

 

Who? YOU, Healthy Start grantees! This includes Catalyst grantees and Healthy Start Enhanced (HSE) grantees.

 

What? The Equity LAB is an opportunity to collaborate in a group learning format and will include knowledge transfer, communal interactions, synergy, and testing. Two Equity LABs will be launched in March 2024:

  • Culture Equity LAB: Focused on equity culture, including the language we use and strategies we employ to foster a culture of equity.
  • Tools & Strategies Equity LAB: Focused on learning and sharing different equity tools and strategies.

Equity LAB participants will be asked to bring a current equity challenge or problem to the group. During the sessions, the group will work on dissecting, researching, hypothesizing, and then conducting small tests of change associated with their individual topics. We ask that participants commit to being present, engaged, and prepared to attend at least 3 out of the 4 meetings.

 

Where? Monthly Zoom meetings (register below to access the Zoom link)

 

When? The first Equity Culture LAB will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 1-2:30 pm ET.

The first Equity Tools & Strategies LAB will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 1-2:30 pm ET.

 

How long? Both Equity Labs will meet monthly over the course of four months from March – June 2024.
