The CoIIN Team Coordinates the Healthy Start CoIIN, a partnership of Healthy Start grantees dedicated to strengthening Healthy Start services and systems, in order to advance program goals to reduce infant mortality and improve birth outcomes.

Yvonne Hamby, MPH focuses her work on program planning and development in maternal and child health, as well as reproductive and sexual health. Her expertise is in program evaluation, research, and quality improvement of health services delivery. Yvonne received her Master of Public Health from the University of South Florida and was the recipient of the MCHB MCH Traineeship. Yvonne serves as the CoIIN Team Lead for the Healthy Start EPIC Center.

Lea Ayers LaFave, PhD, RN works as a technical advisor for quality improvement. As a nurse, she has worked in a range of settings, applying quality improvement principles in health care and public health addressing a range of health issues and populations. Lea earned her PhD from the University of Massachusetts, Worcester, School of Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from Yale University. Lea supports the Healthy Start CoIIN, in their efforts to standardize key aspects of the Healthy Start program.
