Hear from Your Peer: Training Opportunities to Support Breastfeeding Among the Healthy Start Community

This webinar aims to provide Healthy Start grantees with an overview of breastfeeding training certifications and professional development opportunities for staff to support breastfeeding among their program participants. During the webinar, presenters will describe the requirements for both International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) training. Additionally, lived-experience examples of each of these training pathways will be shared, along with the value of partnering with WIC and community breastfeeding support groups. Key considerations for fostering trust, humility, and respect among clients to support breastfeeding will also be part of this informative presentation.
